Putting together the first year retrospective
A recipe for turning the year's collection into a video or an album the whole family will want to see.
The simplest running order that works
- One photo from each month, from the same spot if you have it.
- Three short videos: one from the beginning, one from the middle, one recent.
- Your voice over the top, saying what happened in that month.
- End with the photo from the day she was born and today's photo, side by side.
Where people get stuck
Everyone gets stuck trying to choose between three hundred photos. Do not choose the best ones: choose one per month, in order, and carry on. A retrospective that got made is worth infinitely more than a perfect one that did not.

The first Easter
Probably no chocolate yet. But the photo with the little ears and the Easter letter last far longer than the egg.

The first Mother's Day
The photo that almost never exists is the mother with the baby, because she is the one taking the photos. Ask someone. Today is the day.
